Bio
As an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics my laboratory focuses on gene and cellular engineering and therapy for acquired and inherited genetic disorders. I am well qualified to investigate genome engineering biology with a long-term goal of leveraging new knowledge into more efficacious and less toxic therapies. I am highly motivated to translate these novel approaches for ex vivo regenerative/curative therapies. Work includes the use of DNA base and prime editing to correct point mutations and for the installation of large cargo into the genome. My lab seeks to address multiple manifestations of RDEB by employing immune therapy approaches for squamous cell carcinoma.
