Dr. Reimer is the lead pediatric dermatologist at Inselspital, University Hospital in Bern, Switzerland, and head of the Bern Epidermolysis bullosa Center. She is board-certified in both pediatrics and dermatology (trained in Germany) and has a long-term special interest in genodermatoses. In 2021, Dr. Reimer joined Dr. Amy Paller’s team at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA, for a 2-year research fellowship funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Her research focus during the last years was dedicated to epidermolysis bullosa, including studies of natural history, genotype-phenotype correlations, and lately the development of a deep learning-based model to recognize cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma on photos of EB skin.
