Bio

Dr. Anna Bruckner is Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Section Head of Pediatric Dermatology, and co-director of the Epidermolysis Bullosa Center of Excellence at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

For over 20 years, her main goal as a physician and researcher has been to improve the quality of life of people with EB. She started her career at Stanford University in 2004, where she rebuilt the multidisciplinary EB clinic into a resource for patients in the state of California and beyond. She moved to the University of Colorado in 2011 and had grown the EB Center of Excellence at Children’s Hospital Colorado into a mature program offering the highest quality multidisciplinary care, state of the art treatments, and clinical and translational research.

Dr. Bruckner has studied the clinical course and complications of EB, as well as new and emerging therapies for EB throughout her career. She is a founding member of the EB Clinical Research Consortium (EBCRC), a network of North American EB centers collaborating on clinic research, and is principal investigator for EBCRC’s Clinical Characteristics and Outcomes Database. She has been a key investigator for several clinical trials of novel therapies for EB. Dr. Bruckner is also passionate about educating patients and medical colleagues about EB.
